Uruguayan Chivito-Inspired Steak Sandwiches
Thin seared steak, ham, mozzarella and crisp vegetables stack into an abundant toasted sandwich.

Ingredients
- 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 crusty sandwich rolls
- 4 slices deli ham
- 4 slices mozzarella
- 4 leaves lettuce
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 1/3 cup roasted red pepper strips
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley
- Kosher salt and black pepper
Steps
- Season steak with salt and pepper and sear in hot oil until browned and at least 145°F, about 2 minutes per side.
- Split and lightly toast the rolls.
- Layer hot steak, ham and mozzarella on roll bottoms and broil briefly until cheese melts.
- Add lettuce, tomato and roasted pepper.
- Mix mayonnaise with parsley, spread on roll tops and close the sandwiches.
