Privacy policy

99 Dinner has no accounts and collects as little personal data as possible.

Summary

You do not need an account to use 99 Dinner. Your saved dinners, meal plan and language choice stay in your browser. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and Google AdSense to show ads. Where the law requires it, these cookies are set only after you agree. We also keep basic server logs to keep the site secure and working.

Information stored on your device

The site saves three things in your browser's local storage, which is a small storage area kept on your device:

This information stays on your device. It is never sent to us. You can remove it at any time by using the clear controls on the My dinners page, or by clearing the site data for 99 Dinner in your browser settings.

Cookies and similar technologies

Google Analytics and Google AdSense may set cookies and similar technologies on your device to measure visits and show ads. Where consent is required by law, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, these cookies are set only after you agree through the consent message from Google's certified consent management platform.

You can change your choices at any time:

To learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see Google's partner-sites policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure things such as page views and which features people use, so we can improve the site. It does not identify you by name. Google Analytics processes IP addresses, and in GA4 they are not stored in a form we can see.

Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

Where consent is required, analytics cookies are set only after you agree.

Advertising

The site shows ads through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, measure ad performance and, where permitted and where you have consented, show personalised ads based on your past visits to this site and other sites.

You can manage personalised advertising in Google's ad settings. In the United States, you can opt out of many advertising networks at aboutads.info. Opting out does not stop ads from appearing; it stops them being tailored to you.

Server logs

Our web server keeps standard access logs. These record the IP address, browser (user agent), the page requested and the time of the request. We use them for security and troubleshooting, such as finding and blocking abuse and fixing errors. We keep these logs for a limited period and then delete them.

Children

99 Dinner is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU and UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act. These can include the right to:

To use these rights, contact us at hello@99dinner.com. You can also clear your local data or change your cookie choices as described above.

International transfers

Google and its partners may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States, where data protection rules may differ from those where you live. Google describes how it handles these transfers in its own privacy documentation.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
