Pakistani Keema Matar with Peas
Warm-spiced ground beef and sweet peas cook into a dry-style tomato curry for scooping with roti.

Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 can diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 1/2 cups frozen peas
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/3 cup chopped cilantro
- 4 roti
- Kosher salt
Steps
- Cook onion in oil until golden, then add garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander and turmeric.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it into small crumbles, until browned and 160°F.
- Stir in tomatoes and 1/2 teaspoon salt and cook until most liquid evaporates, about 8 minutes.
- Add peas and garam masala and cook until peas are hot and tender, 4 minutes.
- Finish with cilantro and serve with warmed roti.
